On February 2, 2022, the Day of Consecrated Life, four religious from the Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary began a missionary experience in the parish of St. Lucy Martyr in Yamaranguilla, Honduras, which has a population of approximately 24,000 people.
In the inauguration of the Carmelites administration of the parish, Bishop Walter Guillén Soto, SDB, of the Diocese of Gracias, read the decree which said the parish would be established as the diocesan sanctuary of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel with the feast celebrated as a solemnity on July 16 each year.
