Fr. Mario Alfarano, O.Carm.,

Fr. Mario was born in Brindisi (Italy) on August 7, 1971. He is a member of the Province of Naples.   He entered the Carmelites and made his first profession in 1992 and was ordained a priest in 1998. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from University of Naples and a degree in Spiritual Theology for Formation from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He was a formator for students from 1999 to 2002, and from 2002 to 2008 he was a Prior Provincial of the Province of Naples.  He was member of the International Commission for Formation from 2002-2009.  From 2008-2013 he was a Secretary General of the Order. In 2013 he was appointed General Delegate for the Nuns and the affiliate Institutes.



As Carmelites We live our life of allegiance to Jesus Christ and to serve Him faithfully with a pure heart and a clear conscience through a commitment to seek the face of the living God (the contemplative dimension of life), through prayer, through fraternity, and through service (diakonia). These three fundamental elements of the charism are not distinct and unrelated values, but closely interwoven. 

All of these we live under the protection, inspiration and guidance of Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whom we honor as "our Mother and sister."
