New Carmelite parish in Jember, East Java, Indonesia

the Purest Heart of Mary parish, in Jember, East Java

On Sunday, March 31, 2019, Msgr. Henricus Pidyarto O.Carm., the bishop of Malang blessed the new Carmelite church, the Purest Heart of Mary parish, in Jember, East Java. This is the second Catholic Church in the city. The first one is St. Joseph, which is also run by the Carmelites since its beginning. The bishop elected Fr. Yulius Agie Haryanto O.Carm. as the pastor of the new parish. The Prior Provincial and all members of St. Joseph Carmelite Monastery attended the blessing and the opening of the new church.

These three fundamental elements of the charism are not distinct and unrelated values, but closely interwoven. 

All of these we live under the protection, inspiration and guidance of Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whom we honor as "our Mother and sister."
