The friars of the Carmelite Order are present in various parts of the world. The Order itself is structured in Provinces, General Commissariats, General Delegations and houses under the direct jurisdiction of the Prior General. We have 19 Provinces, 4 General Commissariats, and 4 General Delegations distributed throughout the world. The statistics for 2019 show 194 presences of friars in Africa, 559 in America, 663 in Asia-Australia and Oceania and 604 in Europe. In total there are 2020 Carmelites, of whom 14 are bishops, 1299 priests, 6 permanent deacons, 203 solemnly professed friars, 342 simply professed friars, and 156 novices.
