The members of the General Carmelite Laity Commission

From October 26th to 31st 2017, the members of the General Carmelite Laity Commission gathered  in the General Curia in Rome. The group worked on two main agendas: Firstly, the revision of the final draft of the formation manual for the TOC and Carmelite Laity. Secondly, details for the next International Lay Carmelite congress, that will be held from 15th September (arrival) to 21st September (departure) 2018 in Rome, Italy. The theme of the congress will be “Our Lady of Carmel: Mother of Family”.  In the next few days we will send out to all the Provinces, Delegations and Commissariats the convocation letter and practical information about the congress.

As Carmelites We live our life of allegiance to Jesus Christ and to serve Him faithfully with a pure heart and a clear conscience through a commitment to seek the face of the living God (the contemplative dimension of life), through prayer, through fraternity, and through service (diakonia). These three fundamental elements of the charism are not distinct and unrelated values, but closely interwoven.

All of these we live under the protection, inspiration and guidance of Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whom we honor as "our Mother and sister."
