On 16^th October 2002, the Holy Father began the 25^th anniversary of his pontificate by publishing his Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae (RVM) with which he promulgated the Year of the Rosary (from October 2002 to October 2002) and presented the Church with another five new Mysteries of Light on the public life of Jesus in addition to the already existing fifteen mysteries.
